Home Therapy for ASD children
I am trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS). My core beliefs regarding working alongside children with autism follow Barry Prizant's SCERTS Model, a family centered, multi-disciplinary approach to enhancing communication and socioemotional abilities of children with autism best. This model "prioritizes social communication, emotional regulation, and transactional support" (Prizant, 2003). This model also "integrates contemporary understanding of learning style of persons with ADS" (2003). In short, this philosophy, as well as mine, puts the child first, not the diagnosis, and works to teach in a meaningful, comprehensive way specifically to your child. I tend to blend the three mediums as I work with my students as I feel children benefit from this well-rounded approach. In these sessions I implement programs designed specifically for your child’s needs by your Program Manager.

Art Classes
Focusing on fine motor skills, ASD children work in a small group setting alongside peers. This is a two hour class and is offered as interest arises.

Social Groups
Using tools of Michelle Garcia Winner, renowned speech language pathologist, MA-CCC and well known for her countless contributions to both families and educators of students with autism, I focus on expected/unexpected behavior, how to be a good friend, thought bubbles verses speaking bubbles, size of the problem, etc. This small group is a two hour class and is offered as interest arises.
